Maya’s List – Just Released!

The first fifteen years of her nursing career were spent in the emergency department in a small rural town. Then she became a nurse educator and considered herself fortunate to assist many of her students to become Registered Nurses. To her, the only career better than nursing is teaching it.
From the book:
Sitting next to him that night, she came instantly awake when she saw the dark form bend over her brother’s bed. Eric’s introduction of his old army buddy, Cutter, did not satisfy Maya.
Cutter said, “Now that I see he’ll be okay, I’m going to find out who did this.”
“The sheriff will take care of this,” Maya said pointedly.
“The sheriff can do what he wants,” he quietly said. There was steel in his deep voice that sent shivers down Maya’s back.
“What makes you think you can do anything better than the sheriff?” she demanded.
“I have to. I owe him,” he answered. The investigation began.
